The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) exposes a conspiracy against youth leader Shravan Joshi in Surat. Alleging BJP involvement, AAP highlights false FIRs, police harassment, and Joshi’s fight against grain mafias and corruption in Limbayat.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has revealed a planned conspiracy against its young leader Shravankumar Joshi, following attempts to malign his image over the past few days in Surat. A press conference was held today under the leadership of AAP Surat City President Dharmesh Bhanderi and Surat Lok Sabha In-Charge Rajnikant Waghani, addressing the recent developments and exposing the alleged political motives behind the attacks.
During the conference, Dharmesh Bhanderi highlighted the contributions of Shravankumar Joshi, who hails from the Brahm community in Rajasthan, is associated with the textile business, and has been actively working against corruption while serving as Youth Wing General Secretary of AAP Surat. Bhanderi emphasized that Joshi’s recent efforts in the Limbayat area—including actions against grain mafias, illegal traffic challans, SMC violations, illegal meat sales near Dada Mandir, and unlicensed liquor dens—have strengthened public trust in AAP, generating a positive shift in public sentiment.
Conspiracy and Alleged Police Harassment
According to Bhanderi, on December 29, a fabricated complaint was filed against Joshi in Limbayat. On the same day, at around 3:30 PM, the Special Operations Group (SOG) allegedly took Joshi and his associate Sampat Chaudhary into custody from Joshi’s office. Reports claim that Joshi faced physical assault and was coerced into giving a forced confession, which was filmed. Later that evening, an FIR was registered against him.

Bhanderi questioned the police procedure, stating: “How can a system first abduct someone, assault them, force a confession, record it on video, and then file a complaint against them?”
He further alleged that the conspiracy was orchestrated by Kamlesh Khatik, a BJP-linked individual involved in the 2022 grain scam in Sachin, where AAP had exposed large-scale corruption at a government grain depot. While 10 of the 11 accused were arrested, Kamlesh Khatik allegedly became a government witness under BJP protection. Now, under this alleged political cover, Khatik filed a false complaint, leading to the harassment of Joshi.
AAP’s Response and Wider Implications
Dharmesh Bhanderi stated that the entire AAP Surat team stands firmly with Joshi. He underlined that similar incidents have occurred in Visavadar, where false FIRs were filed against AAP leaders, and physical attacks were orchestrated inside the jail with BJP-linked individuals.
The press conference also highlighted video evidence showing forced confessions and manipulation, with no real financial wrongdoing by Joshi or his associate. Furthermore, citizens in Limbayat have themselves reported issues with grain mafias, illegal ration distribution, and corruption, supporting AAP’s claims of public interest activism.
Bhanderi concluded by affirming that AAP is undeterred by conspiracies or intimidation tactics. The party remains committed to exposing corruption, fighting grain mafias, and defending the rights of ordinary citizens, while continuing to strengthen its presence and credibility in Surat.
