AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava criticized the district collector and officials for excluding him from the Sagbara Eklavya Model Residential School inauguration, highlighting administrative lapses and the importance of respecting elected representatives.
In a strong statement at the inauguration of the Eklavya Model Residential School in Sagbara, AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava openly criticized the district collector and other officials for not extending an invitation to him, despite being the elected representative of the area.
The newly inaugurated school, designed for 240 students and equipped with 16 classrooms, a library, and modern laboratories, aims to provide quality education to tribal students in the region. While the event saw the presence of ministers and MPs from the Gujarat government, MLA Chaitar Vasava expressed his discontent over being excluded from prior communication.
Speaking at the event, Chaitar Vasava said, “Why is the collector not reaching out to us? Why are we repeatedly left out of notifications and invitations? I am the elected representative of this region, yet no official contacted me via phone or invitation letter. Denying an invitation is not just disrespecting me; it is an insult to my constituents.”

Chaitar Vasava emphasized that the building was constructed using government funds for tribal development, not for individual recognition, and that the administrative oversight reflects a larger issue of suppressing the voice of elected representatives. “We are elected by the people and serve them. From collectors to talatis, all are public servants. Then why are public representatives sidelined in programs held in their own constituencies?” he asked.
Despite the omission, MLA Chaitar Vasava attended the inauguration following a suggestion from a local sarpanch, highlighting the importance of the program for the community. He praised the efforts of the Gujarat government and the Tribal Development Department, noting that the school, which has been operational since 2013, now has its building and facilities completed through coordinated efforts of the central and state governments.
He further stated, “I hope this campus empowers tribal children to receive quality education and shape their future. The students’ performances and the school’s environment today were truly commendable.”
MLA Chaitar Vasava also stressed the constitutional rights of elected representatives, asserting that procedural protocols must respect the presence of local MLAs. He mentioned that he would seek clarification from the administration regarding this oversight in the coming days and warned, “Any infringement on our dignity will not be tolerated.”
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about administrative communication gaps with elected representatives and emphasizes the need for proper protocol in public events, particularly those aimed at community development and education.
