AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava holds a massive Parivartan Sabha in Kvant, Chhota Udepur, demanding cancellation of Amba Dungar and Naswadi hydro projects. Thousands attend as AAP pledges tribal welfare, transparency, and political accountability.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized a large-scale ‘Parivartan Sabha’ in Kvant, Chhota Udepur, under the leadership of AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava, drawing thousands of local residents. The event highlighted growing public anger over land acquisition for the Amba Dungar and Naswadi hydro projects and signaled potential political shifts ahead of the upcoming local Swaraj elections.
Public Outcry Against Hydro Projects
Addressing the crowd, MLA Chaitar Vasava stated that the Amba Dungar and Naswadi projects would affect multiple villages due to land acquisition. “Thousands have gathered here today in protest. During the budget session, we will raise our voice to cancel both projects,” Vasava said. He criticized BJP leaders for spreading misinformation and claimed the public was being deliberately misled about the projects.
Vasava also alleged that a former Gujarat Forest Minister owns multiple properties ranging from Saptura to Mumbai, including hotels, resorts, and jewelry shops in Surat and Kosamba. “Under our government, these assets will undergo thorough investigation,” he said.
Criticism of BJP and Congress Leaders
Vasava accused BJP leaders of diverting attention from key issues by making false allegations against him. He emphasized that public concerns—like water supply issues in Narmada, incomplete roads in Turkheda, missing Anganwadi infrastructure, school facilities, and corruption in MNREGA—remain unaddressed by the ruling party. “They accuse me while failing to stand for the tribal community,” he added.

He further criticized Congress for not supporting tribal issues or candidates in critical constituencies like Bharuch and Visavadar, highlighting AAP’s independent stance in upcoming elections.
Promises for Accountability and Public Welfare
Vasava promised that if AAP forms the government, all controversial projects pushed by BJP through local bodies—Taluka Panchayat, District Panchayat, and Municipalities—would be reviewed and canceled where necessary. He assured citizens that thorough investigations would be conducted into leaders accused of corruption or amassing disproportionate wealth, and responsible individuals would face legal action.
Vasava also highlighted the mismanagement of funds in tribal welfare. “Prime Minister Modi inaugurated projects worth Rs. 100 crore in the Tribal Development Department, but those funds could have been used to build schools and Anganwadis, giving our children a chance to become IPS and IAS officers. Instead, the money was mismanaged,” he said.
Political Impact Ahead of Local Elections
The massive turnout at the Parivartan Sabha indicates strong public support for AAP in Chhota Udepur. Analysts suggest this could influence Swaraj elections and potentially reshape the local political landscape. Vasava’s emphasis on tribal rights, transparency, and public welfare positions AAP as a credible alternative to both BJP and Congress in the region.
