Adivasi Nyay Yatra in support of Chaitar Vasava enters its sixth day as AAP leaders raise tribal rights, healthcare and development concerns in Gujarat.
The Adivasi Nyay Yatra in support of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitar Vasava reached its sixth day with a press conference held in Naswadi, Chhota Udepur district, Gujarat. Several senior party leaders and office-bearers attended the event, raising concerns over alleged injustice against the tribal community, a lack of basic facilities in tribal areas and the cases registered against the legislator. Through the Adivasi Nyay Yatra in support of Chaitar Vasava, the leaders urged people to unite and raise their voices for tribal rights and dignity.
Those present included Shakuntalaben Vasava and Varshaben Vasava, Chaitar Vasava’s wives, along with AAP Kisan Morcha state president Pravin Ram, state vice-president Rajubhai Valvai, Chhota Udepur district president Radhikaben Rathwa, and state organisation minister and Narmada district president Niranjan Vasava. The leaders expressed their displeasure with the government and alleged that Chaitar Vasava had been wrongly implicated in cases. These claims were made by the party representatives during the press conference.
AAP Leader Highlights Employment and Malnutrition Concerns
Addressing the gathering, Kisan Morcha state president Pravin Ram said limited employment opportunities in tribal regions were forcing many residents to migrate elsewhere in search of livelihoods. He also criticised the BJP’s approximately 30-year rule in the state, claiming that tribal areas continued to face serious challenges, including malnutrition and inadequate development.
Pravin Ram said Chaitar Vasava had raised issues concerning the protection of jal, jungle and zameen (water, forests and land), opposition to hydro-mining projects, scholarships and the rights of tribal communities. He alleged that the legislator had been targeted for speaking up on these matters and was being kept in jail through false cases.
Reacting to BJP leader Mansukh Vasava’s reported description of the march as a “drama,” Pravin Ram strongly defended the campaign. He challenged those dismissing the movement to understand the hardships faced by a young leader who, according to him, had spent months in jail.

Calling the campaign a struggle for tribal identity and justice, he appealed to people across political parties to join the movement. He urged supporters to reach Gandhinagar on the 4th, saying the issue should be viewed beyond party politics.
Chaitar Vasava’s Wives Raise Questions Over Tribal Welfare
During the press conference, Shakuntalaben Vasava and Varshaben Vasava also criticised the government over their family’s situation. They alleged that Chaitar Vasava had faced injustice for advocating the rights of tribal communities and claimed that his imprisonment had caused considerable distress to the family.
They said that being associated with an elected representative had not shielded the family from difficulties. They also stated that people would express their response through their votes in the 2027 elections.
The two women highlighted what they described as a shortage of essential facilities in tribal regions, including education, electricity, healthcare and roads. According to them, poor road connectivity in some areas makes it difficult to transport pregnant women to medical facilities. They also raised concerns about sickle cell disease and the need for greater attention to healthcare in tribal communities.
They accused elected representatives of failing to speak adequately about these challenges and alleged that tribal communities were being treated primarily as a vote bank. Their statements called for greater accountability and improved access to essential public services.
Leaders Appeal for Tribal Unity and Justice
The speakers also spoke about the emotional impact of Chaitar Vasava’s absence on his family, particularly his young children. They alleged that he was facing severe hardships in prison and appealed to members of the tribal community to stand together in support of the family.
The Adivasi Nyay Yatra in support of Chaitar Vasava has focused on issues including tribal rights, employment, healthcare, education and access to basic infrastructure. AAP representatives said these concerns should receive attention regardless of political differences.
The party leaders reiterated their appeal for people to gather in Gandhinagar on the 4th and support the campaign. They said the objective was to bring the concerns of tribal communities into wider public discussion and demand justice in Chaitar Vasava’s case.
As the march continues, the Adivasi Nyay Yatra in support of Chaitar Vasava has become a platform for AAP leaders to highlight tribal welfare concerns and question the government’s response to them. The party is seeking broader public participation in its campaign for tribal rights and accountability.
The Adivasi Nyay Yatra in support of Chaitar Vasava is expected to remain a key political issue for the party as it calls for unity ahead of the proposed gathering in Gandhinagar. The allegations raised during the press conference represent the leaders’ position, and responses from the other parties concerned would be needed for a complete account of the dispute.
