Ahead of Amit Shah rally, Aman Arora questions the center on ₹1,600 crore flood relief, employment schemes, gas shortage, and drug issues in Punjab.
Punjab government minister Aman Arora has raised several critical questions to the central government ahead of the Amit Shah rally in Moga. Speaking at a press conference in Chandigarh, he urged the center to provide clear answers on key issues affecting Punjab.
Arora first highlighted the issue of the Rural Development Fund (RDF), stating that the central government has withheld crores of rupees meant for Punjab, affecting the state’s development projects. He also referred to the floods last year, which caused massive damage, noting that the Prime Minister had announced ₹1,600 crore in relief for Punjab. However, none of this amount has been released yet.
Arora directly asked during the Amit Shah rally whether the central minister has brought the ₹1,600 crore relief cheque. He demanded that if the funds are available, they should be handed over to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and if not, the reason should be explained to the public during the rally.
The minister also raised concerns over the India-US agreement, calling it “one-sided” and potentially harmful to farmers and traders. He criticized the central government for granting tax benefits to neighboring states, causing financial losses to Punjab.

Questions on Drugs and Employment Schemes
Aman Arora expressed concern over drug trafficking in Punjab. He said that many times, consignments of drugs come from other states, and the central government should take strict measures to curb this. He also highlighted that changes in the long-running employment schemes could increase unemployment and questioned the rationale behind these decisions.
Gas Shortage Issues Highlighted
Aman Arora criticized the central government for mismanaged domestic and foreign policies, which have led to gas shortages. He cited a recent incident in Barnala where a person died while waiting in a long line for a gas cylinder. He compared it to hardships faced during demonetization when people had to stand in long queues.
Concluding, Aman Arora said that ahead of the Amit Shah rally, the central government must provide clear answers to the people of Punjab on flood relief funds, employment schemes, gas shortages, and drug issues to ensure transparency and accountability.
