Punjab Startup Ecosystem : The Punjab government has launched two major initiatives, Punjab Investor Circle and Startup Punjab Hub – Neuron 2.0, to strengthen the state’s innovation and entrepreneurship landscape. Industries and Commerce Minister Aman Arora announced the initiatives, aimed at connecting promising startups with investors while promoting deep-tech incubation and advanced skill development.
The move is expected to further expand the Punjab Startup Ecosystem by creating better opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, and technology-driven businesses across the state.
Startups Pitch Ideas Before Investors and Industry Leaders
The launch event, organised by Startup Punjab at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, featured pitching sessions by 14 startups from sectors including Information Technology, Healthcare, Agritech, Manufacturing, and Deep Technology.
Entrepreneurs presented their business models and ideas before venture capitalists, industry experts, and mentors to explore funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, and long-term collaborations.
Punjab Investor Circle to Bridge Startup-Investor Gap
Aman Arora said the Punjab Investor Circle will work as a long-term institutional platform to connect high-potential startups with potential investors. He highlighted that the government is focusing on building an innovation-driven economy through supportive policies, incubation programmes, and investment-friendly initiatives.

The initiative aims to provide startups with improved access to capital, mentorship, and business networks, strengthening the overall Punjab Startup Ecosystem.
Startup Punjab Hub – Neuron 2.0 to Support Deep-Tech Innovation
The minister also launched Startup Punjab Hub – Neuron 2.0, an upgraded version of the state’s technology incubation program. The initiative will focus on supporting technology-based startups through advanced incubation facilities and specialized skill development.
The earlier Neuron programme supported 114 technology startups, helped in 67 intellectual property filings, generated nearly 2,700 jobs, and contributed to startups achieving a combined valuation of around ₹890 crore.
The upgraded program will introduce a dedicated Cybersecurity Lab and advanced skilling infrastructure to encourage the growth of next-generation technology enterprises.
Punjab Records Growth in Startup Sector
Aman Arora said Punjab now has more than 2,500 DPIIT-recognised startups, reflecting the state’s growing entrepreneurial environment. Startup Punjab has supported over 222 startups with seed funding of more than ₹6.8 crore.

He also highlighted the increasing participation of women entrepreneurs, with nearly half of recognised startups having at least one woman director.
Government Aims to Make Punjab a Startup Destination
The launch of these initiatives marks another step towards strengthening the Punjab Startup Ecosystem and positioning the state as a preferred destination for innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment.
The event concluded with networking sessions between startups, investors, and mentors. Senior officials, including Industries and Commerce Administrative Secretary Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Punjab Development Commission Vice Chairperson Seema Bansal, Invest Punjab CEO Amit Dhaka, and Director Jaspreet Singh, were also present.
