Apple Airpods: According to a MacRumors story, Apple plans to release more reasonably priced AirPods later this year.
Analyst Jeff Pu, who focuses on businesses in Apple’s supply chain, claims that the company plans to release more reasonably priced AirPods later this year, according to a MacRumors article. Pu revealed that one of the suppliers for the less expensive AirPods will be a division of Apple’s contract manufacturer Foxconn in a recent research report with investment company Haitong International Securities. Pu added that in the fourth quarter of 2024, Foxconn plans to boost AirPods assembly at a facility in India.
Apple is expected to release two fourth-generation AirPods models in September or October, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. These models will come in entry-level and mid-tier variants, with the latter featuring an updated charging case with a USB-C port and the former featuring a new design for better fit and sound quality. The mid-tier variant is also anticipated to have features like a speaker for Find My location tracking and active noise cancellation (ANC).
