Bhagwant Singh Mann highlights ₹51 lakh development works in Teera village, bridge projects, zero electricity bills and 70,840 jobs in Punjab.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted his government’s commitment to grassroots development during his visit to Teera village in the Kharar Assembly constituency. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the overwhelming public response and the large presence of tractors reflected the strong connection between the people and the state government.
According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government is working with a focus on improving basic infrastructure and delivering development directly to villages. During the visit, a cheque of ₹51 lakh was handed over to the Teera village panchayat for local development works, including the renovation of ponds and improvement of roads and unpaved village paths.
₹51 Lakh Released for Teera Village Development
The funds announced during the visit are aimed at addressing important infrastructure requirements in Teera. The financial assistance will support works related to ponds, roads and other basic development needs of the village.

Bhagwant Singh Mann also said that the government has approved the demand for bridges at several locations, including Mirzapur, Tarapur, Jayanti Majra and Rurki. The proposed bridge projects are expected to improve connectivity and make transportation easier for residents in these areas.
The Chief Minister contrasted his government’s approach with previous administrations, alleging that earlier governments had focused more on their own interests. He said the present government is committed to functioning as a government of ordinary people and prioritising public needs.
Focus on Zero Electricity Bills and Employment
Speaking about the government’s welfare initiatives, Bhagwant Singh Mann claimed that electricity bills for around 90% of households in Punjab are now coming to zero. The government has repeatedly highlighted free electricity as one of its major public welfare measures.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the employment generated under his administration. He said Punjab’s youth have received 70,840 government jobs without recommendations, emphasising the government’s stated policy of providing employment opportunities on the basis of merit and a transparent recruitment process.
‘Rangla Punjab’ Remains Government’s Development Vision
Bhagwant Singh Mann said the government’s broader campaign to restore Punjab’s identity as a prosperous and vibrant state, described as ‘Rangla Punjab,’ is continuing. He stressed that development at the village level, better infrastructure, employment opportunities and public welfare are important parts of this vision.
The Teera visit also saw a strong public gathering, with tractors forming a prominent part of the event. The Chief Minister thanked residents for their affection and support and reiterated his government’s commitment to continuing development work across Punjab.
With infrastructure projects, welfare measures and employment remaining key areas of focus, Bhagwant Singh Mann said the government would continue working towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people and building a stronger and more prosperous Punjab.
