AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava demands the immediate cancellation of Bogus Tribal Certificates Gujarat and legal action against those illegally benefiting from fake ST certificates.
AAP MLA from Dediapada, Chaitar Vasava, raised a strong demand in the Gujarat Assembly for the immediate cancellation of Bogus Tribal Certificates Gujarat. He stated that nearly 56,000 fake tribal certificates have been issued to non-tribal individuals, who are illegally availing benefits in education, jobs, and even politically.
Speaking to the media in the assembly, Vasava said, “Non-tribal individuals have obtained Bogus Tribal Certificates Gujarat and are misusing them for personal gains in education, employment, and political privileges. We have raised this issue in the Assembly and discussed it at length.”
According to the Gujarat government committee report, approximately 21,913 Rabari, Bharwad, and Charan individuals residing in the Gir Bardaa area have been legitimately recognized by the analysis committee as eligible for ST benefits. However, the remaining 56,000 Bogus Tribal Certificates Gujarat were issued by the Gujarat government’s RBC, and Vasava demanded their immediate cancellation. He also emphasized that all benefits obtained using these fake certificates must be revoked, and legal action should be taken against the violators.

Vasava further highlighted that beyond the Gir Bardaa residents, other individuals from Rabari, Charan, and Bharwad communities were also wrongly included in the Scheduled Tribe list. Although the state government sent a proposal to the central government three years ago to correct this, it has yet to be approved. Vasava urged the state and central governments to complete the necessary action and approve the proposal promptly.
He also stressed that the amendments made in 2018, 2020, and 2022 regarding fake caste certificates should be immediately enforced by the analysis committee to remove all individuals misusing Bogus Tribal Certificates Gujarat, whether in politics, education, or employment.
In addition, Vasava raised concerns over the 40% cut-off ratio set in 2023 for Class 3 subordinate service recruitment. He demanded the cancellation of this circular, stating that due to the cut-off, reserved seats for tribal communities remain unfilled, depriving them of their rightful benefits.
Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai assured the Assembly that the government is sensitive to this long-standing issue and is working towards a resolution. Vasava expressed hope that the Gujarat government will take swift action to resolve the misuse of Bogus Tribal Certificates Gujarat.
