Punjab Minister Ravjot Singh raises concern over Canada Work Permit Applications, saying Punjabi students are affected as Punjab seeks Centre’s intervention.
Chandigarh: Punjab Cabinet Minister Ravjot Singh has raised concern over the rejection of a large number of Canada Work Permit Applications, saying that the issue is affecting students, including a significant number of Punjabi students. He said the Punjab government is closely monitoring the situation and working to protect the interests of affected youngsters.
Addressing the media from the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Ravjot Singh said the rejection of Canada Work Permit Applications has created serious concerns among students who had travelled to Canada with aspirations of building their education and careers.
Punjabi students among those affected
According to Ravjot Singh, Punjabi students are among those facing difficulties amid the ongoing situation. He said protests against what affected students describe as unfair treatment are continuing.
The minister stressed that the concerns of young people cannot simply be ignored, particularly when students and their families have invested considerable time, effort and resources in their education and future plans.
The issue surrounding Canada Work Permit Applications has therefore become an important concern for Punjab, given the large number of students from the state who pursue education and career opportunities in Canada.
