AAP MLA Chhatar Vasava warns BJP government against Aravalli mining, urging protection of mountains, forests, and water at “Save Aravalli” rally.
A massive “Save Aravalli” rally held in Kheroj, Khedbrahma Taluka, witnessed the participation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chhatar Vasava. Alongside him, hundreds of local citizens, farmers, tribal communities, environmental activists, and party workers, including youth leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja, gathered to protest the proposed changes to the Aravalli mountain range definitions.
Addressing the gathering, Chhatar Vasava accused the BJP government of altering the Aravalli definitions under pressure from industrialists and mining mafias. According to him, the government’s move is aimed solely at handing over the Aravalli hills to mining interests, endangering the state and the nation’s ecological future. “The BJP is rolling out the red carpet for mining mafias, threatening our water, forests, and land. These mountains are not man-made—they have stood for thousands of years, and no one will be allowed to destroy them,” Vasava stated firmly.
Protecting the Environment at All Costs
Vasava emphasized that any encroachment on Aravalli would be catastrophic not just for the region but for humanity at large. The Aravalli mountain range plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, and its destruction could lead to rivers drying up, causing a severe water crisis. He warned that if necessary, citizens would march to Gandhinagar to safeguard the Aravalli. “When people from Rajasthan and Haryana call for Delhi, thousands from Gujarat will join this struggle. Development at the cost of destroying water, forests, and land is unacceptable,” he added.

Supreme Court Orders and Legal Concerns
Speaking to the media, Chhatar Vasava noted that the Supreme Court had recently ruled in November 2025 that only hills above 100 meters would be considered part of the Aravalli range, while hills within a 500-meter radius would be excluded from Aravalli and forest protection. He warned that this legal framework appears to favor mining mafias, raising serious concerns about the government’s intentions.
Aravalli: A Symbol of Faith and Survival
Chhatar Vasava further stressed that the Aravalli mountains represent more than just land—they are central to faith, environmental health, and the survival of future generations. He compared the situation to past national forest encroachments, noting that while campaigns like “One Tree for Mother” were promoted, forests in Hasdeo, Odisha, Assam, Nagaland, and Jharkhand were handed over to industrialists. “Now, a similar conspiracy targets the Aravalli mountains, and we strongly oppose it,” he said.
Chhatar Vasava concluded by asserting that the AAP is in contact with citizens across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi, and if the Supreme Court does not reconsider, the movement will march to Delhi in the coming days.
