Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that the National Service Scheme (NSS) serves as a vital platform for fostering personality development and patriotism among students. The organization embodies the spirit of service, helping students cultivate essential values and contribute to national progress. He lauded the inclusion of NSS as a subject in education, stating that instilling a service-oriented mindset in youth would accelerate the country’s development.
Speaking at an event at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister’s residence) on Thursday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav honored NSS students from Madhya Pradesh who excelled at the Republic Day Parade 2025 in New Delhi. He presented medals to the students and their coordinators, acknowledging their dedication and congratulating them on their remarkable performance at Kartavya Path on January 26, 2025.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted NSS’s role in instilling values of social service, patriotism, discipline, and teamwork in young people. He encouraged students to stay actively involved in social and national service initiatives. The government, he noted, is committed to youth development by channeling their energy and talents towards the state’s growth.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stressed that youth are the driving force behind the nation’s progress and urged them to not only focus on building their careers but also participate in politics to strengthen social and national development. He encouraged young individuals to become job creators rather than job seekers, emphasizing India’s cultural philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family). He urged students to embrace the spirit of service while honing their skills for a brighter future.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav praised NSS for its involvement in cleanliness drives, integrity campaigns, blood donation initiatives, and public awareness programs, stating that the organization inspires individuals to advance in life with a spirit of unity.
Over 1.60 Lakh Students Engaged in NSS
Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Mr. Anupam Rajan, noted that NSS operates on the principle of education through service and service through education. Currently, over 1.60 lakh students from colleges across the state are engaged in NSS, with efforts underway to establish more units in institutions where they are yet to be introduced. He congratulated the participating NSS volunteers and encouraged students to embrace national service as responsible citizens.
At the event’s commencement, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed with an NSS badge and honored with a memento. The ceremony was attended by former minister and MLA Mr. Omprakash Saklecha, senior officials from the Higher Education Department, NSS coordinators, and volunteers from various colleges in Bhopal. Higher Education Commissioner Mr. Nishant Warwade expressed gratitude at the program’s conclusion.
