The Chief Minister, Shri Nitish Kumar, today inspected the under-construction Eye Hospital of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna and directed to complete the remaining construction work immediately.
During this, the Chief Minister went to the first floor and inspected the OPD, ward area, operation theatre room, general ward etc. Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Pratyaya Amrit informed the Chief Minister that the 154-bed eye hospital would be self-contained at a cost of Rs 188 crore. This hospital will be G plus three. There is an excellent facility for the treatment of cornea and refractive, glaucoma, retina and Euboea. Pediatric and neurological ophthalmology can also be treated here. The hospital also provides 24-hour emergency services. It will be the largest government eye hospital in North-East India.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that the construction work of the remaining works of this special hospital should be completed expeditiously. After the completion of its construction, eye-related diseases will be treated in a special way, which is very convenient for patients. The people of the state will get another option for better treatment of their eyes in the form of this hospital. The Chief Minister also enquired about the arrangements at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Pratyaya Amrit, Secretary to the Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Kumar Ravi, Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister Gopal Singh, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandra Shekhar Singh, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra, Director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Dr. Binde Prasad, Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr. Manish Mandal and other senior officials of the health department and doctors of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences were present during the inspection.
