CJP reiterated its demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation during talks with Union ministers and sought compensation for NEET protest victims’ families.

Representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which has been leading protests over the alleged NEET paper leak, held a two-hour meeting with Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh on Friday, reiterating that their demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan remains non-negotiable.

The meeting was part of the Centre’s ongoing efforts to engage with protest leaders and discuss concerns related to alleged examination irregularities and student grievances.

CJP Stands Firm on Key Demands

Speaking after the meeting, CJP National Spokesperson Saurav Das said the organisation made it clear that it would continue to press for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the handling of the NEET controversy.

The delegation also urged the government to provide ₹1 crore compensation to the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the cancellation of the NEET examination held on May 3. In addition, the group demanded the withdrawal of FIRs registered against protesters participating in demonstrations.

Government Assures Further Discussion

Union Minister J.P. Nadda said the government carefully listened to the concerns raised by the delegation and assured them that the issues would be reviewed. He confirmed that both sides have agreed to hold another round of discussions on Saturday to continue the dialogue.

The meeting is seen as part of the government’s attempt to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing protests and address concerns surrounding examination transparency and accountability.

NEET Issue Remains at the Centre of Debate

The alleged NEET paper leak has triggered nationwide protests, political criticism, and demands for stronger safeguards in the examination system. Student groups and opposition parties have called for greater accountability, while the government has announced plans to introduce stricter legal measures against examination fraud.

With another round of talks scheduled, attention will remain focused on whether both sides can reach common ground on the key demands raised by the protesting students and their representatives.
