Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has questioned the Centre’s announcement of setting up fast-track courts for paper leak cases, alleging that the move lacks seriousness and accountability. Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement on the issue, Kejriwal claimed that merely creating fast-track courts would not solve the problem unless investigations are conducted properly and strong evidence is presented.

Addressing the media in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Kejriwal said that the Prime Minister had assured the country through a video message that a law for fast-track courts related to examination paper leaks would be introduced in Parliament. However, he alleged that the announcement was only a “hollow promise” as the investigation process itself was not delivering results.

Arvind Kejriwal referred to the NEET 2024 paper leak case and questioned the developments surrounding the investigation. He claimed that Sanjeev Mukhiya, who was earlier alleged to be a key accused in the case, was later given relief after the investigation agency reportedly informed the court about the lack of sufficient evidence.

The AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal questioned that if the alleged mastermind was not responsible, then who was behind the paper leak. He demanded clarity from investigating agencies and asked for transparency in the probe.

‘Fast-Track Courts Need Strong Investigation and Evidence’

Kejriwal said that courts can only deliver justice when investigating agencies present proper evidence. He questioned the effectiveness of fast-track courts if cases are not investigated thoroughly or if accused persons are not properly prosecuted.

He alleged that students and their families have suffered due to examination irregularities and said the government should take stronger measures to prevent future paper leaks.

The AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the issue has affected the confidence of lakhs of students preparing for competitive examinations. He demanded concrete steps to strengthen the examination system and prevent such incidents in the future.

Kejriwal also questioned what measures have been taken to ensure that upcoming NEET examinations remain free from irregularities.
