CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that public servants play an important role in keeping the basic structure of democracy strong. He said that to build a developed India and developed Rajasthan, it is very important to benefit the last man in the line from the development schemes and the responsibility of successful implementation of this work lies with the public servants. He said that the public servant should work with dutifulness, strong will and full sensitivity for good governance.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was addressing the Public Service Day programme at Harish Chandra Mathur State Institute of Public Administration, Jhalana Dungri on Monday. He said that when a needy person comes to a public servant in need, he should help him in every possible way with full responsibility. He directed the officials to provide immediate relief to the people. He said that we should work as a team spirit to achieve the common goal of public interest and public welfare.
Sardar Patel had called public servants’ steel frames’.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the first Home Minister of the country, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had addressed the officers of the Indian Administrative Service on this day in 1947. In his historic speech, he had called civil servants the ‘steel frame’ i. e. the backbone of the country’s governance system. He said that public service means working selflessly for the welfare of the people. Serving without selfishness, with integrity and honesty is true public service. Therefore, the purpose of celebrating Public Service Day is to recognize and honour the contributions of public servants.
Make maximum use of technology and digital services in public administration
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that maximum use of technology and digital services in public administration should work towards corruption free and accountable administration. “It is our moral responsibility to be sensitive towards the society. Irrespective of the position we hold, our goal should be only public service and this spirit of service should be learnt from great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Dr. A. e-file system implemented up to village level
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government is fully committed to the concept of public interest, speedy and corruption-free administration. For this, innovations are being promoted for simple, easy and quick delivery of services. He said that important policies like One District One Product Policy, New Tourism Unit Policy, Integrated Clean Energy Policy, New Mineral Policy have been issued by the State Government to increase investment and employment opportunities. Also, e-file system has been implemented up to the village level and online paperless work is being done in all the departments.
Redressal of public grievances is an integral part of good governance
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the pace of disposal of public works has increased. Redressal of public grievances is an integral part of good governance. He said that more than 1.5 crore grievances have been redressed through Rajasthan Sampark Portal. More than 99% of the nearly 33 lakh cases registered in the last one year have been disposed of and Rajasthan has also been ranked among the top 3 states in the country in the Good Governance Week observed in the month of December.
Rising Rajasthan Summit will strengthen the state
The Chief Minister said that inspired by the ‘Ek Vridh Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan’ launched by the Prime Minister, 7 crore 22 lakh saplings were planted in the state last year under the Hariyalo Rajasthan Abhiyan and 10 crore saplings will be planted this year. He said that Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit was organized with an aim to generate employment by encouraging investment in the state. In which MoUs worth about Rs 35 lakh crore have been made by the investors, out of which the ground breaking of MoUs worth Rs 3 lakh crore has also been done.
Developed with the strength of infrastructure, the resolution of Rajasthan 2047 will be fulfilled
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that developed Rajasthan 2047 is our resolve. To accomplish this, basic facilities like electricity, water, roads are being strengthened in every region of the state. Projects like Ram Jal Setu and Yamuna Jal Pact will provide ample water for drinking and irrigation. He said a provision of Rs 3,400 crore has been made for the IGNP. Our promise of providing water to every village under the Jal Jeevan Mission is also being fulfilled. He said 9 green field expressways, ring roads, bridge construction and Atal Path in villages will give new energy to trade, tourism and agriculture sectors. He said that all these efforts have the same objective, to change the picture and destiny of Rajasthan.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma gave away the Chief Minister’s Excellence Awards-2025 and Rajasthan Sampark Portal Awards to various officers in the department / individual / district category for their innovations, excellent work done under good governance, redressal of public grievances on Sampark Portal in the state. Earlier, Shri Sharma launched the Karmayogi Skill Development Week by pressing the remote button. He also visited the photo gallery and model of Civil Service Officers Institute at H.S. M. Ripa Complex.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC general) Anita Darshi, ADC Development Rajinder Batra, Assistant Commissioner General Lal Vishwas Bains, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Moga Gurwinder Singh Johal, District Welfare Officer Bikramjit Singh Purewal and District Education Officer (Secondary) Pardeep Sharma were present. At the same time, public servants from all the districts were connected through VC.
