CM Bhajanlal Sharma transfers ₹653 crore to farmers in Sirohi via DBT, launches Gram Utthan Shivir 2026, and targets Congress over corruption claims.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday visited Sirohi district, where he announced major welfare initiatives and formally launched the ambitious “Gram Utthan Shivir–2026” programme. The event coincided with the second anniversary of the Ram Temple consecration and witnessed large public participation.
During the state-level function, the Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reviewed a development exhibition showcasing ongoing infrastructure and social projects across the region. Emphasising inclusive growth, Sharma said the government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society.
₹653 Crore Direct Benefit Transfer to Farmers
Leveraging digital technology, CM Bhajanlal Sharma remotely transferred ₹653 crore directly into the bank accounts of lakhs of farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. In addition, financial assistance under several other welfare schemes was also credited to beneficiaries electronically.
The Chief Minister highlighted that transparent digital payments eliminate middlemen and ensure timely delivery of government support to citizens, particularly farmers and rural families.
Sharp Attack on Congress Over Alleged Corruption
Addressing a public gathering, Sharma strongly criticised the previous Congress government, referring to alleged irregularities in the 2019 recruitment examination involving manipulation of OMR sheets. He claimed that the investigation has reached close to the former Chief Minister’s residence and pointed to the arrest of a senior official as proof of deep-rooted corruption.
He warned that anyone found guilty of tampering with the future of youth would face strict legal action, regardless of political affiliation.

He added that the state is witnessing visible progress in education, healthcare, agriculture, and public infrastructure.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma received a warm traditional welcome upon his arrival at the Sirohi airstrip. Several senior leaders, including Minister Ota Ram Dewasi, MP Lumbaram Chaudhary, and BJP State President Madan Rathore, were present to greet him. As per local customs, Sharma was honoured with a turban and presented with a ceremonial sword and shield.
Thousands of people from Sirohi, Jalore, and Pali districts attended the programme, making it one of the largest regional public events in recent months.
The Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating rural development, strengthening farmer welfare, and ensuring transparent governance across Rajasthan.
