CM Dhami committed to the protection and promotion of literature and culture Under the ‘Financial Assistance Scheme for Publication of Books in Different Languages’, grants to litterateurs, ‘Sahitya Bhushan’ and ‘Life Time Achievement’ awards to outstanding litterateurs of the state and honorarium of Rs. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that our government is committed to the preservation and promotion of literature and culture. We have started the work of honouring outstanding litterateurs through Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman in the state. We are also providing grants to litterateurs under the financial assistance scheme for publishing texts in various languages.
“Our government is also working to honour outstanding litterateurs of the state with ‘Sahitya Bhushan’ and ‘Lifetime Achievement’ awards. Under which we have recently announced an honorarium of Rs. We are also organising various competitions and events to attract the younger generation towards literature so that they can connect with their cultural and literary heritage and contribute to its furtherance.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday visited the Himalayan Cultural Centre, Garhi Cantt. He was addressing a conference organised by Dera Kavi. Welcoming all the poets present in the Kavi Sammelan, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that poets are not only makers of words but they are also thinkers, guides and motivators of the society and their poems serve to show the mirror to the society. When the society is surrounded by confusion, then the poets not only work to show a new direction to the society through their writings, but also try to bring positive changes in the society.
The Chief Minister said that India’s freedom movement also gained momentum only when our poets and creators inspired the countrymen to take active part in the freedom movement with their creations. The Chief Minister said that this holy land of our Devbhoomi has been a wonderful centre of creativity for centuries, where the light of ideas has inspired the society in every era. Be it Shri Ayodhya Singh Upadhyay, Hari Audh or Sumitranandan Pant ji, Girda or Nagarjuna, all these compositions written in the vadis of Uttarakhand resonate with us even today.
