CM Dhami on Sunday participated in the Jain Samaj Sammelan held at Shri Digambar Jain Panchayati Mandir and sought blessings of Jain religious leaders.
CM Dhami said that the life of Acharya Saurabh Sagar Muni Ji Maharaj is a symbol of unique ideals of restraint, sacrifice and non-violence. Saurabhanchal Teerth and Jeevan Asha Hospital are examples of his visionary leadership and compassion, which are leading the society on the path of dharma and seva. The Chief Minister said that Jainism has given a message to the world that non-violence is the religion of valour. Jain society has presented a unique example not only of non-violence but also of organization and social unity.
He said that the state government is committed for the overall development of the state and in this sequence, Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the “Uniform Civil Code.” With this, more than 25 thousand youth have been successful in getting government jobs since the anti-copying law. The Chief Minister said that it is the priority of the government to preserve the demography of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. For this purpose, anti-conversion and anti-riot laws have been enacted. More than 9 thousand acres of government land has been freed from illegal occupation in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the suggestion received regarding the formation of Jain Welfare Board would be seriously considered by the Government. He expressed confidence that the Jain community would continue to contribute to the overall development of Uttarakhand. On the occasion, MLA Jai Kishan Singh Rodi, Harminder Bakhshi, Rajwinder Kaur, Olympian Surinder Singh Sodhi, Principal Prem Kumar, Dr Sanjeev Sharma, Janab Suleman Bahri, Pardeep Duggal, Harcharan Singh, Balbir, Darshan Lal, Saravjit, Lucky Randhawa, Raman, Hardwari Lal, Sanjeev Bhagat among other leaders were present.
