Adi Kailash is a site of great religious significance.
Adi Kailash, also known as Jonglingkong Peak, is a mountain in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district that is a part of the Himalayan Mountain range. Known as the Panch Kailash or “Five Kailashas,” this set of five distinct peaks in the Himalayas at various locations is the second most significant summit in the group. Adi Kailash will be the first to host the inaugural Yoga Day.
There will be a yoga day on the Parvati Sarovar bank.
On June 21, International Yoga Day, CM Dhami is expected to officially open the program on the banks of Parvati Sarovar. A sacred lake called Parvati Sarovar is situated 4,497 meters above sea level, not far from Adi Kailash’s summit. At the lake’s edge is a shrine dedicated to the goddess Parvati and the god Shiva. Pilgrims making their way to Adi Kailash offer prayers at the shrine. Following the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Adi Kailash in the previous year, this location is rapidly becoming popular with tourists. The quantity of tourists reaching this location has multiplied numerous times since it first appeared on the tourism map. Given this, the state administration chose Adi Kailash to host the inaugural International Yoga Day celebration.
June 21st is the 10th International Yoga Day.
In the presence of CM Dhami, Jageshwar, Almora commemorated the 9th Yoga Day last year on June 21, 2023. However, the new location for this year’s 10th Yoga Day celebrations will be the tranquil Parvati Sarovar, tucked away among hills blanketed with snow. CM Dhami will practice Anulom-Vilom and Pranayama, among other yoga poses, with those present. On June 21, Adi Kailash will host the 10th International Yoga Day, according to Secretary Ayush Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey. Every district has scheduled yoga events, and the Chief Minister will launch Yoga Day from Adi Kailash as the department makes preparations.
Yoga is a mental, physical, and spiritual discipline.
Since its establishment by the UN General Assembly in 2014, June 21 has been the global day of celebration for the International Day of Yoga every year. Yoga is an ancient Indian physical, mental, and spiritual discipline. June 21 was proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 2014 UN speech since it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special meaning for many people worldwide.
Adi Kailash requires an inner line permission alone.
Over 5000 people have visited Adi Kailash and Om Parvat to date, indicating that the Adi Kailash pilgrimage in Uttarakhand is becoming more and more popular. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit in October of last year, the pilgrimage garnered notoriety. Respected as the opposite of the sacred Kailash, Adi Kailash just needs an inner line permit because it is located in Indian territory, as opposed to Kailash Mansarovar, which requires a visa from the Chinese government. The Dhami government’s continuous efforts to promote Manaskhand and its religious sites in Kumaon are shown in the recent road development that makes it possible for vehicles to reach Jyolingkong.
