CM Mohan Yadav emphasized that the ‘One District-One Product’ (ODOP) initiative is a crucial step toward empowering artisans and farmers by making them self-reliant. The ODOP Expo, held during the Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Bhopal, served as a global platform for showcasing local craftsmanship and agricultural excellence. Featuring unique ODOP products from 38 districts, the expo highlighted a seamless blend of tradition and innovation.
ODOP: A Path to Global Recognition
During GIS-Bhopal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed ODOP as a transformative initiative for building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He noted that every district’s unique product holds the potential to become its cultural and economic identity, reinforcing the vision of making local products globally recognized brands.
CM Mohan Yadav further stated that the ODOP-Expo at GIS-Bhopal has provided local products—especially handicrafts and agricultural goods—a gateway to international markets.
Live Demonstration of Art, Handicrafts, and Agriculture
The expo featured specialized stalls, divided into live counters and process counters, where artisans demonstrated the creation of eight major traditional products, including Bagh print, Zari Zardozi, Batik print, carpets, Chanderi sarees, bamboo crafts, sandstone artifacts, and fabric jackets.
Foreign investors and industrialists explored these craft-making processes, gaining insight into the skill and expertise of local artisans. The live demonstrations at ‘Kumhar Pura’ and ‘Technical Zone’ were among the most popular attractions at the expo.
Boost for Food and Agricultural Products
The ODOP-Expo also showcased district-specific food products, spices, and fruits, allowing visitors to observe their manufacturing processes. Investors were able to collect samples of these unique products, opening doors for potential business collaborations and export opportunities.
