CM Mohan Yadav stated that the state government is actively working towards an agreement with the Maharashtra government on the Tapti Basin Mega Recharge Scheme. This project, recognized as the world’s largest groundwater recharge initiative, will ensure irrigation reaches every part of the region. CM Mohan Yadav discussed this with farmers from Burhanpur, who met him at the Mantralaya on Tuesday under the leadership of former Minister and MLA Smt. Archana Chitnis.
Additionally, representatives from Naval Singh Cooperative Sugar Factory Limited, Burhanpur, also met the CM Mohan Yadav emphasized that in the public interest, a competent board of directors should be appointed to efficiently manage the factory for the benefit of farmers and the local community. He assured that the state government is willing to provide all necessary support to ensure its smooth operation.
Farmers from Burhanpur further requested an increase in compensation under RBC (6-4) for watermelon and muskmelon crops. The meeting was also attended by MP Shri Gyaneshwar Patil and MLA Sushri Manju Dadu.
