Haryana CM Nayab Saini has emphasized that entrepreneurship and faculty development programmes should be organized across all districts to instill an entrepreneurial mindset among youth and encourage the creation of new enterprises.
CM Nayab Singh Saini instructed officials to ensure the effective implementation of these programmes so that young people can take full advantage of opportunities being offered under the State Startup Policy.
Presiding over a meeting on the Incubator Scheme under the Haryana State Startup Policy on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that startups must be given strong support to build a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem and inspire more youth to pursue innovation-led ventures.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, Sh. Saini noted that the State has set a target, under its Sankalp Patra, to increase women’s participation in startups to 60 percent and urged efforts to achieve this target soon. During the meeting, it was shared that women-led startups currently make up 50 percent in Haryana, with the number expected to reach 60 percent in the near future.
Officials further informed that Haryana ranks seventh in the country in terms of startups, with over 9,100 DPIIT-registered ventures. Of India’s 117 unicorns, 19 are from Haryana, showcasing the state’s growing strength in entrepreneurship. The government has also approved schemes to set up new incubation centers, with official notifications to be released shortly. These centers will provide comprehensive support to startups through various initiatives.
Haryana has also developed a dynamic incubator ecosystem that promotes innovation across sectors such as agritech, IT, IoT, and manufacturing. Key activities include product showcases, entrepreneur bootcamps, networking opportunities with leading business leaders, pitching sessions for investors, success story features, and structured mentoring programmes by experienced founders and professionals.
