Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini said the state government is giving top priority to implementing the Lakhpati Didi scheme to boost women’s economic empowerment. He instructed officials to connect the maximum number of women to the scheme and make them self-reliant. He also directed them to hold special camps under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana and ensure easy access to bank loans for women beneficiaries to promote self-employment.
Chairing a review meeting on the progress of Sankalp Patra commitments—attended by Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar—CM Nayab reviewed initiatives of four departments: Development and Panchayats, Rural Development, Women and Child Development, and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs. Earlier, he had reviewed nine other departments.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve to deliver on its promises, he stressed timely implementation of all commitments. It was reported that over 1.06 lakh women in Haryana have already benefitted under Lakhpati Didi, and efforts are underway to enable 25,000 more to achieve this status in the current fiscal year. He instructed that these targets be met within the set timeline.
Push for Har Ghar – Har Grihini scheme
Reviewing the Har Ghar – Har Grihini scheme, Saini directed that special village camps be organized to enroll all eligible families. CM Nayab said facilities should be provided for on-the-spot bank account linking so that Antyodaya families can get gas cylinders at a subsidized rate of ₹500. Around 18 lakh families have already been covered.
Women’s hostels in every district
CM Nayab was informed about plans to establish women’s hostels in every district to ensure safe housing for working women. In the first phase, construction is underway in Panchkula, Faridabad, Gurugram, and Sonipat, with directions to include solar power and air conditioning. He said the next phase should prioritize industrial hubs like Manesar and Panipat.
Expansion of Saksham Anganwadi centres
On the Saksham Anganwadi scheme, he ordered the upgradation of 2,000 centres in 2025–26, ensuring all necessary facilities are in place quickly. For Scheduled Castes’ community centres, he called for modern amenities such as solar energy and air conditioning, with a uniform design across the state.
Boost to sports at the grassroots
To nurture sports talent, he directed that sports disciplines be identified at the village level and that players be provided with the required equipment.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, senior administrative officials, and heads of the concerned departments.
