Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini today chaired a meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), in which purchase proposals and rate contracts worth over ₹1,763 crore for various state departments were approved. Negotiations with bidders during the meeting helped finalize rates, resulting in savings of more than ₹10 crore.
The meeting was attended by Energy and Transport Minister Sh. Anil Vij, Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Shruti Chaudhary.
CM Nayab Singh Saini emphasized ensuring top quality in all purchased items and equipment, along with timely completion of projects. He reiterated that the government’s priority is to provide better and high-quality services to the public, while completing development works on time with effective use of resources and transparent procurement processes.
Key approvals included the purchase of 29 new 52-seater buses and six mini-buses for the Police Department at a cost of around ₹12 crore to boost law and order. To improve electricity supply, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam were sanctioned purchases of LT XLPE armoured cables, PCC poles, and 20 KVA distribution transformers worth ₹234.19 crore. The CM instructed that all electrical cables be tested in recognized labs, with strict action against any agency whose products fail quality checks, stressing zero compromise on safety norms.
The committee also approved the procurement of sanitary napkins for free distribution to girl students from Classes 6 to 12 in government schools. Additionally, to strengthen e-governance and expand digital services, approval was granted for enhancing cloud server and storage capacity at a cost of over ₹3.20 crore, aimed at improving transparency, speed, and efficiency in government service delivery. Various Transport Department procurement contracts were also cleared.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary Women and Child Development Department Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Sumita Misra, Principal Secretary to CM Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Advisor Urban Development D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary School Education Vineet Garg, Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapur, Director General Supply and Disposal Pankaj, and administrative secretaries of the concerned departments also attended the meeting.
