Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has instructed all Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to promptly inform the Home Department about sensitive examination centres ahead of the CET exam scheduled for July 26 and 27. This will enable timely suspension of internet services, if required, to ensure the exam is conducted smoothly and without disruptions.
Chairing a high-level meeting today to assess preparations by various departments, the Chief Minister stressed that this is the first time the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) is holding the CET on such a large scale. He directed all district authorities to complete necessary arrangements well in advance to avoid any inconvenience to candidates. He emphasized that video recording should be done throughout the process — from the storage to the transportation of question papers — across all districts to maintain transparency and security.
The CM called for strict vigilance around exam centres to prevent anti-social elements from disrupting the process. He also instructed that social media platforms be closely monitored to counter any misinformation or rumors related to the exam.
Transport Readiness for CET and Teej Festival
The Chief Minister said that while making transport arrangements for the CET exam, the Transport Department must also ensure adequate public transportation for the upcoming Teej festival so that the general public does not face any hardship. He also urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel on July 26 and 27 to keep traffic congestion minimal, thereby enabling smooth movement for candidates.
Special Travel Facilities for Guardians of Female Candidates
CM Saini instructed officials to arrange special transport facilities in districts where buses have to cover more than 100 km to reach exam centres. Reserve buses should also be kept ready for emergencies. He directed that Dial-112 emergency services be integrated with the transport plan for the examination days. All candidates must reach the centres at least 30 minutes before their scheduled time. The Chief Minister also mandated that guardians accompanying female candidates should be given free travel in buses on the exam days.
All Set for CET – Chief Secretary
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi assured that all preparations are complete for the smooth conduct of the CET. He ordered that no government staff or officers should be on leave during the exam and their phones must remain active for immediate communication if needed.
Women Safety and Centre Restrictions – Dr. Sumita Mishra
Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra, directed that Section 163 be enforced around exam centres to prohibit unrelated activities. She instructed deployment of duty magistrates and police verification of service staff. Coaching centres and photostat shops near the centres must remain closed on both days. Entry must be allowed only to those with valid ID cards. Special focus should be on the safety and comfort of female candidates.
Security Measures – DGP Shatrujeet Kapur
DGP Shatrujeet Kapur stressed that no mobile phones or digital devices should be carried by staff or officials at examination centres to avoid malpractices such as paper leaks or impersonation. He said private school staff should not enter the school premises on exam days. Public gatherings must be banned within a 500-metre radius of centres. He urged the police to stay alert and ensure a secure and fair exam environment.
It was revealed in the meeting that around 13.48 lakh candidates will appear for the CET across 834 centres statewide.
Present in the meeting were Principal Secretary to CM Arun Kumar Gupta, ACS Higher Education Vineet Garg, ACS Health Sudhir Rajpal, Transport Secretary T.L. Satyaprakash, CID Chief Saurabh Singh, and other senior officials. All DCs and SPs joined the meeting via video conferencing.
