Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini today held a comprehensive review meeting to assess progress on major development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and providing modern amenities to citizens. He instructed officials to ensure timely and high-quality completion of all initiatives so that they can be dedicated to the public without delay.
Presiding over a high-level meeting with senior officials, CM Nayab Singh Saini reviewed ongoing works across various departments including the Chief Secretary’s Office, Home, Labour, Industries and Commerce, Fisheries, and AYUSH.
CM Nayab Singh Saini emphasized the need to draft policies and frameworks that prioritize the welfare of four crucial pillars of a developed India — youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged. The Chief Minister stressed that governance should be people-centric, and policy decisions must reflect the real needs of these groups, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and efficient execution of government schemes.
Plywood Industry in Yamunanagar & Metal Industry in Jagadhri
To rejuvenate the plywood sector in Yamunanagar, CM Nayab Singh Saini called for a detailed action plan. Similarly, he directed officials to create a comprehensive revival roadmap for the metal industry in Jagadhri.
Affordable Housing for Workers
In the review of Labour Department initiatives, CM Nayab Singh Saini emphasized the development of affordable housing for urban workers near their workplaces under the ‘Walk-to-Work’ policy. He suggested exploring CSR partnerships with corporate entities and called for the inclusion of canteen facilities in such residential clusters.
Boosting Agriculture and Food Processing
To modernize agriculture, CM Nayab Singh Saini ordered the preparation of region-specific plans for establishing food processing units based on dominant local crops. This move aims to help farmers transition from traditional crops to market-driven production. He also recommended developing small clusters and centres of excellence to support this initiative.
Road Safety and Infrastructure Improvements
Focusing on road safety, CM Nayab Singh Saini asked for the drafting of a strong Road Safety Policy. He directed officials to eliminate potholes from all main roads, identify accident-prone zones (“black spots”), and take immediate corrective action. With winter approaching, he also stressed the importance of installing clear signage to prevent fog-related accidents.
Promoting Women-led Startups
During the meeting, officials shared that the Haryana Startup Policy is being expanded to support women-led ventures. The share of women entrepreneurs has increased from 45% to 50%, with a goal to reach 60%. A dedicated center will be set up in Panchkula in partnership with NITI Aayog to offer both financial support and tailored training for women entrepreneurs.
Additionally, it was informed that every yogashala in the state will have an adjacent Ayushman Arogya Mandir to promote wellness and preventive healthcare.
