On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini laid the foundation stones for Atal Chowk and Atal Park at the Mata Mansa Devi Complex in Sector-1, Panchkula.
An estimated ₹16 crore will be invested in developing both Atal Chowk and Atal Park. Atal Chowk, which will be located along the road connecting Mata Mansa Devi Complex to Sukhna Lake, will feature a 40-foot-wide roundabout adorned with fountains, lighting, and a central lotus flower crafted from Dholpur stone. Around ₹46.50 lakh has been earmarked for the chowk’s beautification.
Atal Park, covering 2.25 acres, is set to become an attractive tourist spot. With a budget of ₹15 crore, the park is expected to be completed in about nine months. A grand metallic statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will stand at the center, surrounded by 13 thematic gardens—including a wildlife garden, fragrance garden, Ayurvedic garden, cultural garden, art garden, and science garden—offering a diverse and enriching experience for visitors.
The event saw the presence of Kalka MLA Smt. Shakti Rani Sharma, BJP State President Sh. Mohan Lal Kaushik, Panchkula Mayor Sh. Kulbhushan Goyal, former Assembly Speaker Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, former MLA Latika Sharma, Information and Public Relations DG Sh. KM Pandurang, along with other senior officials.
