Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the government is committed to preserving Pehowa’s cultural heritage and transforming it into a prominent tourist destination. He emphasized that among the region’s heritage sites, the Brahma Sarovar stands as a cultural symbol, and it is the government’s duty to safeguard it.
Highlighting its importance, he noted that the 102-acre Brahma Sarovar and the surrounding pilgrimage area attract migratory birds from across India and abroad during certain seasons. To protect this heritage, the government is carrying out renovation and conservation works so future generations can experience it.
CM Nayab Singh Saini made these remarks during a programme at Brahma Sarovar in village Thana, Kurukshetra, where he inspected the pilgrimage site and planted a sapling in the government school premises. On the occasion, he announced a ₹21 lakh grant for village development and assured the sarpanch that all demands listed in the memorandum would be addressed.
He further said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, development in the state is progressing rapidly. With the expansion of national highways, travel across Haryana can now be completed within 3–4 hours, and every district is connected to the network.
CM Nayab Singh Saini also mentioned that the government has enacted a law to transfer up to 500 square yards of panchayat land, occupied for housing by residents for the last 20 years, into their names at 2004 collector rates, resolving several pending court cases. Additionally, the British-era levy on farmers has been abolished, waiving ₹133 crore in such charges. Haryana has become the first state to procure all crops at MSP, with even vegetable crops covered under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana.
MP Sh. Naveen Jindal said that under CM Nayab Singh Saini’s leadership, development works are being implemented across Haryana under the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and ‘Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek’. He added that various projects in Seonsar and Thana villages will soon give Pehowa a global identity as a major pilgrimage and tourist destination.
The event was attended by former Minister of State Sh. Subhash Sudha, CM’s OSD Sh. Bharat Bhushan Bharti, former MLA Kulwant Bazigar, and other dignitaries.
