Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has announced that the upcoming state budget for 2025-26 will be growth-driven, prioritizing key sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, sports, infrastructure, and women’s empowerment. He highlighted that this budget will play a crucial role in strengthening the state’s development and contributing to Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
Presiding over a meeting with Administrative Secretaries in Panchkula, the Chief Minister engaged in pre-budget discussions to gather insights for the financial plan. The Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha is set to commence on March 7, 2025. The meeting was attended by Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. Rajesh Khullar, and Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi.
Administrative Secretaries Play a Key Role in Budget Preparation
During the discussion, CM Nayab Singh Saini emphasized the vital role of Administrative Secretaries in shaping the budget and encouraged them to provide valuable recommendations. He assured that the upcoming budget would introduce new initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of all sections of society.
A Decade of Transformational Governance
CM Nayab Singh Saini noted that the state government has been committed to improving governance over the last ten years, bringing about an unprecedented transformation. Through digital initiatives, citizens can now access various government welfare schemes from their homes, eliminating the need for repeated visits to offices. He cited the old age pension scheme as an example, where senior citizens start receiving their allowance automatically upon turning 60.
E-Libraries to Empower Rural Youth in Competitive Exam Preparation
CM Nayab Singh Saini reiterated the government’s focus on providing quality education by strengthening infrastructure and ensuring an optimal student-teacher ratio in government schools. To promote girls’ education, colleges have been established within a 20-kilometer radius, reducing travel burdens. Additionally, the state plans to set up e-libraries in rural schools and colleges to assist students in preparing for competitive exams.
Haryana’s Sports Infrastructure Setting New Benchmarks
Highlighting Haryana’s emergence as a sporting powerhouse, the Chief Minister credited the players’ dedication and the state’s progressive sports policies for their achievements on national and international platforms. He emphasized that Haryana’s sports initiatives, which include world-class coaching facilities and robust sports infrastructure, are being lauded across the country.
He also underscored the state’s advancements in the healthcare sector, mentioning the increase in hospital bed capacity, availability of free medicines and diagnostic tests, and the fulfillment of the government’s promise to provide free dialysis services for kidney patients in government hospitals.
Inclusive Budgeting: Gathering Suggestions from Stakeholders
CM Nayab Singh Saini stated that extensive pre-budget consultations have been held with various stakeholders, including industry leaders, chartered accountants, agricultural experts, startups, women entrepreneurs, self-help groups, and representatives from the textile industry.
For the first time, public suggestions have been invited through an online portal, which has already received around 10,000 responses. Additionally, inputs from MPs and MLAs were gathered during a two-day consultation in Panchkula on March 3 and 4. He assured that the best suggestions would be incorporated into the final budget, ensuring that it serves the interests of Haryana’s 2.80 crore citizens.
