Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini on Monday unveiled a comprehensive package of development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and civic amenities in Ambala. Speaking at the state-level Teej festival celebrations in Ambala city, he announced a major allocation of ₹145 crore for expanding the city’s water supply network. Additionally, he declared ₹40 crore for setting up a 9 MLD water treatment plant in Sector 24 and ₹60 crore for repairing damaged stretches along both sides of the SYL canal.
Prior to the event, CM Nayab Singh inaugurated and laid foundation stones for nine development projects worth a total of ₹73 crore. This included the launch of four completed projects amounting to ₹26.49 crore and the foundation laying for five upcoming projects valued at ₹46.34 crore—offering a significant boost to Ambala’s infrastructure.
Among the key announcements, CM Nayab Singh Saini revealed plans to construct a synthetic track at the Sector 10 sports stadium. He also sanctioned ₹4 crore for an additional block at the Naggal Primary Health Centre (PHC), and assured that the city’s motor market would be relocated as soon as suitable land is identified.
Further, he announced the construction of a new fire station in Sector 23, Ambala City, and the provision of ₹20 crore to build residential facilities for doctors. A centralized office-cum-residential complex for government employees will also be built at the Dhulkot complex, depending on land availability.
To improve drainage infrastructure, CM Nayab Singh allocated ₹2 crore for strengthening the Nanyola Minor canal and ₹10 crore for concreting the Manmohan Nagar portion of the Ambala drain to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon. An additional ₹35 crore will be spent to concrete sections of the Model Town drain, benefiting areas such as Mathura Nagri, Police Line, Prem Nagar, Vikas Vihar, Patel Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Jandli, and Sectors 9 and 10, along with Jalbera.
Other drainage-related announcements included ₹1.60 crore for a 2 MLD sewage treatment plant in Kamla village, ₹1.50 crore for stormwater disposal at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to address flooding issues, and ₹12 crore for concreting the Old Delhi Road drain to enhance rainwater drainage.
On road infrastructure, CM Saini announced repairs for 56 PWD roads spanning 91.45 km in the Ambala constituency, currently within the Defect Liability Period (DLP). He further sanctioned ₹45.25 crore for special repairs of 53 roads (81.86 km), ₹11.01 crore for six roads (25.61 km), ₹42 crore for widening the Matedi Shekhan–Nanyola road, and ₹8 crore for strengthening the Ambala stretch of the Old NH-65.
To promote rural development, the Chief Minister also set aside ₹5 crore for various village-level projects within the Ambala constituency.
He reaffirmed the government’s earlier budget commitment to establish modern, well-equipped district hospitals in every district to ensure accessible and advanced healthcare for all residents.
Expressing appreciation for the continued public support, CM Nayab Singh Saini stated that the BJP government has formed its third consecutive term in Haryana with the blessings of the people. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the state aims to accelerate its progress at three times the current pace.
The event was also graced by Transport and Energy Minister Anil Vij, Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Choudhry, Minister of State Rajesh Nagar, BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, former minister Aseem Goel, and several other prominent dignitaries.
