CM Nitish Kumar inspected the under-construction tunnel connecting Bihar Museum and Patna Museum and directed the officials to complete it expeditiously and qualitatively. He took stock of the progress of tunnel construction near Bihar Museum.
On the occasion, Director General of Bihar Museum Anjani Kumar Singh apprised CM Nitish Kumar about the entry, parking, facilities for tourists etc. in the museum through the tunnel. The tunnel will be about 1.5 km long and 8m wide, which is being built 15m below the ground, officials said.
During the inspection, CM Nitish Kumar said that this tunnel will ensure easy movement between the two museums for the visitors. He also directed that it should be constructed in such a way that both electric vehicles and pedestrians can easily move in it. He said that Bihar Museum has been made of international standard and Patna Museum is also being expanded and upgraded well. The construction of the tunnel will increase the number of tourists, so better arrangements for parking and other necessary facilities should also be made.
After this, CM Nitish Kumar also inspected the Patna Museum and its expansion work. He took stock of various parts including the newly constructed auditorium, collection store and Ganga Gallery and expressed satisfaction over the quality of work and asked for early completion of the remaining works. Underlining the historical and archaeological importance of the museum, he stressed on giving priority to its conservation and upkeep.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Raji P. Shrivastava, Director Bhupinder Singh, Executive Director PSCFC Devinder Singh, Chairman Backfinco Harjinder Singh Thekedar, Joint secretary-cum-director SC sub plan Raj Bahadur Singh, Under Secretary Manohar Lal Bangarh, Deputy Director Rupinderpal Singh, Joint Director Sushil Kumar, DCFA Avtar Singh, Deputy Director Sarbjinder Singh Randhawa, Deputy Director Parminder Singh Gill among several other officers were also present.
