CM Pushka Singh Dhami on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 27 development projects worth Rs 126.69 crore in Nainital district. These projects include projects related to education, roads, medical, irrigation, sewerage, urban development, beautification and protection of destitute bovines. During this period, 9 schemes worth Rs. 25.93 crore were inaugurated and foundation stone of 18 schemes worth Rs. 100.76 crore was laid. In his address, the Chief Minister said that these projects will strengthen the infrastructure of the region and provide better facilities to the citizens. Appreciating the countrywide development work being done under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he said that India is today becoming a leader in every field including defence, science, sports and infrastructure.
He referred to the changing strength and resolve of the country, referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’, the end of Section 370 and the construction of a rail bridge in Kashmir. The Chief Minister said that in the direction of making Nainital a model district, projects like Mental Hospital, Cancer Institute, Ayush Hospital, Open Gym, Ambedkar Park, Ring Road, Bypass Road, Astro Park, Pollinator Park and Sports University are being implemented at a rapid pace. Waste management and sewerage management schemes have been launched to make Haldwani a clean and green city, while multi-storey parking is being constructed to overcome the problem of congestion. Efforts such as the Jamrani Multi-Purpose Dam Project and the Industrial Smart City at Khurpia will bring long-term benefits to the Terai region.
CM Pushka said that the State Government is fully committed not only to development but also to protect the cultural identity and social harmony. Strict steps have been taken against conversion, love jihad, land jihad etc. Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement a Uniform Civil Code and also the strictest anti-copying law in the country. Concerted efforts are being made under the ‘Cow Protection Act “for cow protection. The Chief Minister said that the state government has adopted a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ against corruption and in the last three years, more than 200 corrupt people have been sent to jail. He appealed to the people that to make Uttarakhand a leading state of the country, all the citizens have to participate in the development journey.
These schemes have been dedicated for the reconstruction of 11 damaged canals in Okhalkanda, District Ayurvedic Bhawan in Bhimtal, Malla Sufirusani Digarphuwa Lodhiya Motorway in Ramgarh, Malli Sethi Lift Irrigation Scheme in Betalghat, Vehicle Parking and Animal OT Construction in Veterinary Hospital in Haldwani, Veterinary Hospital Building in Kaladhungi, Gaushala Construction in Gangapur Kabdwal (Phase 1), Government Polytechnic Building in Ramnagar and Rehabilitation Centre in Pandey Nawad Haldwani. The foundation stone of these schemes was laid for flood protection works at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, construction of damaged canals at Fatehpur, Kamaluwaganja, Gunipur, Paniyali and Bachinagar, polytechnic building at Kotabagh, construction of tube well at Rampur Chakluwa, development of Kainchidham complex, renovation of tourist accommodation at Bhawali, construction of tourist office building at Nainital, reconstruction and improvement of rural motorways, development of Jheerapani waterfall, construction of tube wells at various places. Construction of Gaushala at Lalkuan (Phase 2), Rajpura and Pahandi Mohalla Sewerage Schemes at Haldwani and Renovation of Library at Government Girls Inter College Haldwani.
