In a major development that could redefine transparency in recruitment processes, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has agreed to recommend a CBI inquiry into the recent Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) examination controversy. The move came after mounting pressure from thousands of youth protesting at Parade Ground in Dehradun.
CM Dhami Reaches Protest Site, Makes Emotional Appeal to Youth
In a surprise move on Monday afternoon, CM Dhami personally visited the protest site, interacting directly with agitating students. He acknowledged their hardships and expressed concern about their well-being, especially given the intense heat and the festive season.
“I could have called you to my office, but I chose to come here and listen to you directly. The youth are the backbone of Uttarakhand, and I fully understand their aspirations,” said the Chief Minister.
Government Committed to Transparency in Recruitment
Addressing the gathering, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring complete transparency in the recruitment process. He noted that over the past four years, more than 25,000 recruitments have been conducted without any controversy.
“Only in this one case have doubts emerged, and we are determined to remove every shadow of suspicion. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is already probing the matter under the supervision of a retired High Court judge,” he added.

CBI Inquiry to Be Recommended
However, responding to the persistent demand for a more comprehensive probe, the Chief Minister announced that the state government will formally recommend a CBI investigation into the matter.

Cases Against Protesters to Be Withdrawn
In another youth-centric move, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami declared that all police cases filed against students during the protests will be withdrawn immediately.
“No young person will be penalized for raising their voice for justice. You are our future, and your concerns are valid,” he said, earning applause from the gathered crowd.
Vision for a Developed Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami concluded by emphasizing his vision of making Uttarakhand a model state during the ‘Amrit Kaal’ of India’s development journey. He stressed that the youth will play a pivotal role in achieving this dream.
