CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting to develop the engineering institutions of the state at the national level by providing infrastructure, qualified faculty, modern labs and other basic facilities. To connect the youth with employment, they should be skilled in various trades as per the demand of the industry. These directions were given by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officials during a meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday regarding the development of engineering institutions of the state at the national level. The Chief Minister said that all the engineering colleges of the state should be provided with basic facilities, hostels and boundary walls as well as better road connectivity.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister gave strict instructions that faculty should be deployed in all engineering colleges as per the prescribed standards. The Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the absence of recruitments as per the arrangement made for the recruitment process in engineering colleges. Expressing displeasure over the lack of student registration in engineering institutions, he said that along with increasing student registration, attention should be paid to the latest technology along with good curriculum in all trades. He said that good arrangements should also be ensured for placement of children from the campus itself. The Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the non-operation of classes in the building constructed for the operation of Nanhi Pari Frontier Engineering Institute at Maddhura in Pithoragarh. He said that it should be fully investigated as to who selected the place for the engineering institute, whether this place was suitable or not. If it was not suitable, why was an engineering institute built at this place? Even after spending around Rs 15 crore on the building, why are classes not being conducted in it? At present, the engineering college is being run on the building of GIC.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed to constitute a fresh SIT on the complaints of irregularities in appointments, promotions and other matters in G. B. Pant Engineering College, Ghurdori and conduct a detailed investigation keeping in view all aspects. Technical Education Minister Subodh Uniyal, Vice Chairman Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabar, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R. K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Dr. Ranjit Sinha, Vice Chancellor Madho Singh Bhandari Technical University Prof. Onkar Singh, Additional Secretary Mrs. Swati Bhadoria and Directors of Engineering Institutions were present in the meeting.
