CM Pushkar Singh Dhami took stock of the arrangements at the State Emergency Operation Centre after receiving information about the avalanche in the Mana area. He directed the officials to expedite the rescue operations and reviewed the status of relief operations. The Chief Minister directed to increase surveillance in the affected area with the help of helicopters and drones and to bring the injured to AIIMS Rishikesh through air ambulance as per requirement.
ITBP, Army, district administration and Air Force are engaged in relief operations and the state government is in constant touch with the central government, he said. Helicopter operations are being hampered due to bad weather, but rescue operations will be intensified once the weather improves. Mana helipad is being activated and all preparations have been completed at AIIMS Rishikesh, Srinagar Medical College and District Hospital Gopeshwar.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also took information from District Magistrate Chamoli through virtual medium, who informed that as soon as the information of the avalanche was received, the teams of Army, ITBP, NDRF and SDRF were immediately engaged in the relief work. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu and other senior officials.
