CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday distributed an amount of Rs 1.72 crore 44 lakh 4 thousand through DBT in the financial year 2024-25 to 40,504 beneficiaries under the Nanda Goura Yojana from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. Under this scheme, a total of 2,84,559 beneficiaries have been provided financial assistance of Rs.9.68.64 lakh 51 thousand in the last five years.
Under the Nanda Gaura scheme, financial assistance of Rs 11,000 is given on the birth of a girl child in Uttarakhand and Rs 51,000 on passing the 12th class. In this financial year, an amount of Rs.9.81 crore was transferred through DBT to 8,616 girls on birth basis and Rs.1.62 crore 62.88 crore to 31,888 girls who passed 12th standard.
CM Pushkar said that under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, the state government is continuously implementing various schemes, which are benefitting the daughters of poor families. The government is also running initiatives like Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Yojana and Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana to promote girl child education.
Cabinet Minister Smt Rekha Arya, Secretary Shri Chandresh Kumar Yadav, Director Women Empowerment and Child Development Shri Prashant Arya and other officials were present on the occasion.
