CM Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the event at Survey Stadium in Dehradun, which was organised to mark the completion of three years of service, good governance and development of the state government. During the visit, he inspected the multipurpose camp set up to address the problems of the people. Prior to the event, the Chief Minister also participated in a grand road show from Hatibarkala to Survey Stadium.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announced to set up “Devbhoomi Silver Jubilee Parks” in different cities of the state to commemorate 25 years of the establishment of the state. On the occasion, he distributed cheques of credit card linkage to self-help groups of the Rural Development Department, Mahalakshmi kits and agricultural machines to the beneficiaries. He said that the state government is working at a fast pace for the overall development of the state, under which a network of roads is being laid from cities to remote villages. At the same time, work is also being done to start rail services in the hills by completing the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail project soon.
Under the UDAN scheme, heli services have been started in 12 cities of the state including Dehradun, Almora, Uttarkashi, Gauchar and Pithoragarh, which has strengthened air connectivity. In addition, the construction work of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is being expedited. A four-lane elevated road is also being planned on the Rispana and Bindal rivers in Dehradun. Various projects worth Rs 1400 crore are being undertaken in the city, including setting up of smart schools and construction of a state-of-the-art library with a capacity of 650 readers at Lansdowne intersection. 30 electric buses are being operated to promote environmental protection, as well as 11 charging stations for private electric vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi described the pro-people decisions of the government as a model for the country and said that in the last three years, extensive efforts have been made to take various public welfare schemes to the last person. He said that the government has made the application process of most of the schemes online, so that people can get the benefits sitting at home.
On the occasion of the completion of three years of the government, multi-purpose camps are being organized at the district, assembly and block levels across the state including Dehradun, where people are being informed about various schemes as well as the process of their application and disposal is being completed on the spot.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, LIT Chairman Raman Balasubramaniam, MC Councillors Mamta Ashu and Sunny Bhalla, MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, besides several others.
