CM Pushkar Singh Dhami : A complete action plan should be prepared for the Fit Uttarakhand campaign within 15 days. The action plan should be prepared jointly by the departments of sports, health, AYUSH, food, education and higher education. The campaign will be organised at the district and state levels. Under ‘Eat Right Be Fit’, the message of reducing sugar, salt and oil a little should be spread to the general public. The Fit Uttarakhand campaign should be carried out on a large scale up to the village level, besides schools, colleges and universities. Regular health camps should be held in schools and colleges.
These instructions were given by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officials during the review of Fit Uttarakhand under the Fit India Movement. The Chief Minister said that it is necessary to have a healthy mind for a healthy body, so people should be made aware to stay mentally healthy. Fit Uttarakhand campaign should also be included in the silver jubilee calendar of the state.
People should be made aware of food habits, regular health check-ups and physical activities. Youth and Mahila Mangal teams should be involved and sports materials should be provided to take the Fit Uttarakhand campaign to the village level. During the Legacy Plan meeting of the Sports Department, the Chief Minister said that the sports infrastructure built in the state should be used regularly for sports. Talented players from the state should be prepared for the upcoming sports competitions to be held at the national and international level. A sustainable sports ecosystem should be developed to encourage sports activities among the local youth.
It was informed in the meeting that world class and high quality training centers are being developed for better training of the youth of the state. A total of 28 Multipurpose Halls, 52 Small and Large Stadiums, 155 Playgrounds and Halls, 1 Shooting Range, 5 Athletic Tracks, 1 Mountaineering Centre, 1 Lawn Ball Ground, 5 Astro Tuffers, 1 Velodrome, 1 Adventure Training Institute are the infrastructure being planned in the State.
