CM Pushkar Singh Dhami : The interests of the workers of the state are among the top priorities of the government. To fulfill the objectives for which the Uttarakhand Unorganized Workers Social Security Board has been formed, work should be done under a clear plan. For the successful implementation of the schemes, they should be brought under one roof so that all the eligible people get the full benefit of the schemes. They should get the benefits of the schemes being provided to the workers. The workers of the state should be given first priority. These directions were given by the CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officers during the meeting of Uttarakhand Unorganized Workers Social Security Board at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is our endeavour to club one type of scheme to benefit the eligible maximum, so that the scheme remains effective and regular monitoring can also be done. Special attention should be paid to the better utilization of the resources of the state. The process of registration of workers should be further simplified. Emphasis should also be laid on connecting the children of workers with the mainstream and benefiting from the facilities available to them. Attention should also be paid to the skill development of workers.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the information should be given to the general public by the departments in clear and simple language. In the PPT to be presented in the meetings, three things should be clearly mentioned that what has been done so far, no work has been done, why it has not been done and what is the plan ahead. He said that whatever suggestions have been given by the members of the board should be included in the future plans. It was informed in the meeting that about 30 lakh workers are registered from the state of Uttarakhand. Of these, 17 lakh are women and 13 lakh men. So far, 20 lakh workers have been verified. Out of 20 lakh verified workers, 2.5 lakh are construction workers, 17.50 lakh are other various categories of workers. 15 registered workers of e-Shram portal have been benefitted from Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana by the Labour Department. In which Rs 2 lakh is given as accident insurance. There are 39,567 registered workers in the PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, out of which 20,509 are female and 19,58 are male workers. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Principal Secretary Justice Pradeep Pant, Secretaries Nitesh Jha, Sachin Kurve, Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Brijesh Kumar Sant, V Shanmugam, C Ravishankar, Commissioner Labour Ms Deepti Singh, Board members and concerned officers.
