CM Pushkar Singh : The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines have been opened for devotees. The first puja was performed in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister performed special pujas at both the temples. Dhami is the first chief minister to attend the inauguration of Yamunotri Dham.
Char Dham of Uttarakhand is a major center of faith for the devotees of the country and abroad. CM Pushkar Singh Elaborate arrangements have been made in the state for safe and smooth Char Dham Yatra. The Chief Minister appealed for everyone’s cooperation for a green and clean Chardham Yatra. The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines were opened for devotees on Wednesday on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya with chanting of Vedic mantras and prayers. Along with this, the Char Dham Yatra 2025 of Uttarakhand has also been started. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami performed the first puja in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and wished for the successful conduct of the Chardham Yatra and the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the country. Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami is the first Chief Minister to arrive at the inauguration of Yamunotri Dham. On this occasion, flowers were showered from a helicopter over the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples. According to religious traditions, on Wednesday morning, the festive Doli of Maa Ganga reached Gangotri Dham by walking from the Bhairav temple located in the Bhairav Valley. The portals of the Gangotri temple were opened for devotees at 10.30 am with a special puja at the Gangotri Dham. Under the leadership of Shanidev Maharaj, the doli of Maa Yamuna reached Yamunotri Dham by walking from Kharsali, the place of winter sojourn. The portals of Yamunotri Dham were opened for devotees at 11.55 am with religious rituals. On the occasion of the opening of the gates, thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad visited the Akhand Jyoti and took a bath in the Ganges and Yamuna.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami offered prayers at Yamunotri and Gangotri temples. Shri Dhami also took blessings from the dolis of the folk deities that reached both the dhams. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Char Dham Yatra has been formally launched on the auspicious festival of Akshaya Tritiya. The Char Dham of Uttarakhand is a major center of faith for the devotees of the country and abroad and the desire to get the privilege of visiting these dhamas remains in the mind of every devotee. The Chief Minister said that elaborate arrangements have been made in the state for safe and smooth Char Dham Yatra. Keeping in mind the convenience and ease of devotees, efforts have been made to provide all basic facilities. He said that special attention is being paid to traffic management along with providing basic facilities to the devotees in the Char Dham Yatra. The Chief Minister said that as per the tradition of Atithi Devo Bhava, it is our effort that all the devotees coming on the Char Dham Yatra should carry the pleasant experience of the journey along with the blessings of the divine dhamas from Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister has also appealed to all the people to cooperate in organizing a green and clean Chardham Yatra.
