CM Vishnu Deo Sai ,while addressing the ‘Urban Development Milestones’ program at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, stated that with the blessings of Lord Shri Ram, Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving toward becoming a developed state. He highlighted that in just thirteen months of governance, numerous significant initiatives have been undertaken to promote good governance, public service, and sensitivity.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the need for the integrated development of both rural and urban areas for the overall growth of Chhattisgarh, which requires adequate human resources. He also mentioned that the long-standing demand for compassionate appointments in urban bodies has been addressed through the creation of new positions. During the event, 103 compassionate appointment letters were distributed, and the government has approved 353 new positions for compassionate appointments in the Urban Administration and Development Department.
During the event, a foundation stone was laid for 813 projects worth Rs 155.38 crore, and 70 projects worth Rs 15.25 crore across various urban bodies were inaugurated. As part of the Amrit Mission 2.0, water supply schemes worth Rs 270 crore were launched in six urban bodies, including Takhatpur, Ratanpur, Bhanupratappur, Chhuria, Malhar, and Khongapani. These projects will provide 20,511 private water connections, ensuring clean drinking water for every household, in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai also celebrated the success of the “Swachh Bharat Mission” in urban areas, with notable public participation. Fourteen urban bodies were recognized for their outstanding efforts in the Clean Toilet Campaign. He praised sanitation workers for their role in maintaining cleanliness and announced an Rs 800 increase in their monthly honorarium, bringing it to Rs 8,000.
He reiterated Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision that no citizen should have to sleep under the open sky, ensuring that everyone has a roof over their head. The government’s first decision, made on December 13, was to approve 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The state has also received substantial support from the central government, with an additional 300,000 houses approved for the next fiscal year.
The Chief Minister invited Chhattisgarh’s devotees to join the grand Mahakumbh event in Prayagraj, where special arrangements for their stay and meals have been made.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, MLAs, and senior officials from the Urban Administration Department, all of whom commended the government’s efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. They highlighted various development initiatives in urban areas, including providing clean drinking water to nearly four lakh people under the Amrit Mission 2.0.
