CM Yogi Adityanath : The annual budget of Uttar Pradesh for the year 2025-26 will be presented on 20 February.
CM Yogi Adityanath, while addressing the media ahead of the legislature session, informed that the proceedings of the House are starting from today, in which the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel will present her important address in the joint house. The discussion on this address will be held the next day, while the annual budget for the year 2025-26 will be presented on February 20. The session, proposed from February 18 to March 5, 2025, will be one of the longest sessions in the history of Uttar Pradesh.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that every year the first session of the legislature begins with the Governor’s address and the annual budget of the state government is also passed during the same period. In this session, important issues related to public interest and development of the state will be discussed. He also informed that the image of the state has improved tremendously, making Uttar Pradesh a centre of attraction for the country and the world. In the last eight years, the government has set new and unprecedented standards of development, which will be reflected in the Governor’s address and the discussions of the House.
The Chief Minister said it was the responsibility of both the ruling and opposition parties to ensure smooth functioning of the House. Expecting positive cooperation from the opposition, he said if the discussion is meaningful, it can prove to be a successful budget session. The House should be a forum for serious and useful dialogue, not a place for recrimination and unparliamentary behaviour. He hoped that the Opposition would strengthen democratic values with a limited and constructive discussion on the Governor’s address.
CM Yogi Adityanath further said that in this session, which will continue till March 5, the MLAs will get an opportunity to speak, discuss the budget and demands for grants. this session of the Legislative
