On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered floral tributes at Gandhi’s statue in GPO Park, Lucknow. The CM also meditated on the timeless bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ during the solemn ceremony.
The event saw schoolchildren performing some of Gandhi’s favorite devotional songs, filling the park with the melodious tunes of ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ and other hymns. CM Yogi spent nearly 15 minutes attentively listening to the performances, appreciating the children’s efforts, and also posed for photographs with them in front of the Gandhi statue.

The ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, MLAs Neeraj Bora and Jai Devi, Legislative Council member Mahendra Singh, Mukesh Sharma, Ramchandra Pradhan, and BJP city president Anand Dwivedi.

Earlier, CM Yogi paid tribute to Gandhi on his official social media handle, stating, “On the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, I bow to him a hundred times over. Gandhi’s life of truth, unwavering practice of nonviolence, and boundless compassion for humanity will continue to illuminate the world. Let us imbibe Bapu’s ideals and contribute our best towards building a prosperous, just, and developed India.”
Through this ceremony, CM Yogi highlighted the importance of Gandhian principles in contemporary India, urging citizens to follow the path of truth, nonviolence, and social harmony in everyday life.
