CM Yogi raises the PRD duty allowance to ₹600 per day and announces annual cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh for personnel and their families.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a major package of benefits for Provincial Guard (PRD) volunteers. The PRD personnel will now receive a daily duty allowance of ₹600 instead of ₹500. Along with the hike, the government has introduced a cashless healthcare facility of up to ₹5 lakh annually for the volunteers and their family members.
The announcements were made during a PRD volunteers’ conference at Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium in Gorakhpur. During the event, CM Yogi launched the ‘Mukhyamantri PRD Cashless Medical Scheme’ and distributed cashless medical cards to selected volunteers.
Daily Duty Allowance Increased to ₹600
CM Yogi said the duty allowance of PRD volunteers has been increased several times during his tenure. Volunteers received ₹250 per day until 2019. The amount was increased to ₹375 in 2019, ₹395 in 2022 and ₹500 in 2025.
The latest decision will raise the daily allowance to ₹600. This means PRD personnel will get ₹100 more for every day of assigned duty compared with the existing allowance.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the allowance has increased substantially in recent years, reflecting the government’s recognition of the role played by PRD volunteers in maintaining public safety and assisting the administration.
₹5 Lakh Cashless Treatment Every Year
One of the key announcements was the launch of a dedicated healthcare scheme for PRD personnel and their families. Under the Mukhyamantri PRD Cashless Medical Scheme, more than 31,000 PRD volunteers will be eligible for cashless medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh every year.
The facility will be available at government hospitals as well as hospitals empanelled by the government. Considering the family members of the volunteers, more than 1.55 lakh people are expected to benefit from the scheme.

PRD Volunteers Support Administration During Major Events
CM Yogi said PRD volunteers have played an important role in supporting the police and administration across Uttar Pradesh. Their responsibilities include assisting during disasters, elections, traffic management and major public events such as the Mahakumbh, Deepotsav and Rangotsav.
The Chief Minister praised the volunteers for performing their duties with discipline, dedication and a spirit of public service. He said the growing recognition of their contribution has also increased the demand for their services.
₹23 Crore PRD Barracks to Come Up in Lucknow
During the conference, CM Yogi also laid the foundation stone for a multi-storey PRD barracks in Lucknow through a remote-controlled ceremony. The facility is estimated to cost around ₹23 crore.
The project is expected to strengthen infrastructure and provide improved facilities for PRD volunteers.
PRD Budget Rises to ₹543 Crore
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Political Pension, Sainik Welfare and Provincial Guard Dr Somendra Tomar said the department’s budget has increased significantly.
According to him, the PRD budget stood at around ₹23 crore before 2017. It has now increased to ₹543 crore under the Yogi Adityanath government.
Dr Tomar described PRD personnel as an important force for peace, security and public service in the state.
10 Volunteers Receive Cashless Medical Cards
Ten PRD volunteers received cashless medical cards from CM Yogi during the conference. The beneficiaries included Ajay, Bhimsen, Dhirendra and Umesh Kumar from Gorakhpur; Snehlata Rawat and Anamika Verma from Lucknow; Chanda Bharti from Kushinagar; Jai Singh from Mau; Mohammad Shakir from Chandauli; and Kishan Gupta from Varanasi.
With the increase in the duty allowance and the new healthcare facility, PRD personnel are set to receive stronger financial and social security support from the Uttar Pradesh government.
