Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath supports PM Modi’s VB-G RAM G Act, calling it a milestone for rural development, job security, digital transparency, and corruption-free governance in India.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s VB-G RAM G Act during a press conference held in Lucknow after the state cabinet’s first meeting of 2026. Describing the law as a “historic turning point,” the Chief Minister said the new framework would eliminate corruption, strengthen rural infrastructure, and guarantee employment opportunities for millions.
Addressing the media at Lok Bhavan, CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted that the scheme focuses on transparency, technology-driven monitoring, and timely wage payments. He emphasized that the act aims to bring accountability into rural employment systems while ensuring dignity and financial security for workers.
‘Opposition Ignoring Public Welfare,’ Says CM Yogi Adityanath
Reacting to criticism from the Congress party and the INDIA alliance, Yogi Adityanath said it was surprising that opposition leaders were questioning a law designed for the benefit of farmers, laborers, and village development. He stated that instead of supporting a reform meant to empower rural communities, critics were defending outdated and corrupt practices.
According to the Chief Minister, the VB-G RAM G Act has been introduced to create long-term rural assets, generate guaranteed employment, and ensure transparent implementation at every level. He added that such structural reforms are necessary to rebuild trust in government programs.
Rural Development Key to ‘Developed India’ Vision
CM Yogi Adityanath underlined that India’s ambition to become a developed nation depends on the growth of its states, and state development ultimately relies on strong villages. He explained that improving rural livelihoods, strengthening the agricultural economy, and providing social security to workers would accelerate national progress.
He welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, stating that the policy would empower farmers, create stable employment, and improve village infrastructure.
Technology to End Fake Beneficiaries and Delays
Highlighting the technological backbone of the act, Yogi said the scheme introduces biometric attendance, geo-tagging, satellite imagery, real-time mobile monitoring, and digital data storage. These systems will ensure that work records remain accurate and manipulation is eliminated.

Payments will be transferred directly to workers’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring faster and safer transactions. The Chief Minister noted that this system would permanently end the misuse of funds under fake identities, which had been a major issue in previous administrations.
‘Earlier There Was Loot, Now There Will Be Accountability’
CM Yogi Adityanath remarked that in earlier governments, workers often faced delayed payments, false attendance records, and widespread corruption. Complaints were common across districts, and public trust had suffered. The new law, he said, would guarantee timely payments and remove unnecessary formalities, making it a landmark reform for rural employment.
He also referenced past irregularities in employment schemes, stating that investigations into earlier mismanagement were still underway. The new framework, he added, ensures that such practices will no longer be possible.
Government Leaders Praise Welfare Impact
Minister Danish Azad Ansari also supported the scheme, calling it a strong step toward improving the lives of economically weaker sections. He said the government continues to adapt policies to meet changing social needs and strengthen grassroots governance.
With its focus on digital governance, transparency, and employment assurance, the VB-G RAM G Act is expected to reshape rural administration and accelerate India’s long-term development goals.
