Delhi government approves construction of 8 new foot over bridges in accident-prone and busy areas to ensure pedestrian safety, reduce road accidents, and streamline traffic flow.
The Delhi government has approved the construction of eight new foot over bridges (FOBs) in busy and accident-prone areas across the city. The initiative aims to reduce road accidents, streamline traffic flow, and provide pedestrians with safer walking routes.
This move is part of Delhi’s broader infrastructure development strategy, focusing on improving road safety and creating secure pathways for pedestrians. The Public Works Department (PWD) selected locations for the new bridges based on traffic studies and on-ground inspections, identifying areas with heavy foot traffic.
