Delhi government launches 81 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs offering free healthcare, 80 diagnostic tests, maternal & child services. Total operational Mandirs now 319.
The Delhi government has inaugurated 81 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, strengthening primary healthcare facilities across the city. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, addressing the public after the launch, stated that the initial target was to open 100 Arogya Mandirs. However, due to minor delays in some locations, 81 centers were inaugurated this time.
The event took place in Nangloi Raya, West Delhi, where CM Gupta highlighted the government’s commitment to accessible healthcare. She also criticized the opposition for questioning the government’s work despite being in power for only 10-11 months. According to the CM, Delhi now has 319 operational Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, up from 238, with the government aiming to establish 1,100 such centers across the city.
Comprehensive Healthcare Services at Arogya Mandirs
These Arogya Mandirs function like mini-hospitals, providing 80 free diagnostic tests along with maternal and child healthcare services. CM Gupta emphasized that each constituency is planned to have 10-12 Arogya Mandirs to ensure residents receive healthcare close to home, minimizing travel and wait times.
Dr. Anju Yadav, working at one of the new Mandirs, explained the treatment process to TV9 Bharatvarsh. Patients first register at the facility, after which they consult a doctor who prescribes necessary tests and medications. Out of the 80 tests, 65 are conducted on-site, while 15 samples are sent externally. Reports are delivered within 24 hours.

The Mandirs also offer vaccination services for pregnant women and children and provide guidance on family planning methods. All tests, medicines, and emergency services are free. Patients requiring specialized care are referred to higher hospitals if necessary.
Government Support and Funding
CM Gupta highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi received ₹1,000 crore to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure. This funding has been utilized to digitize hospital systems, introduce advanced diagnostic equipment, and expand healthcare facilities. She also mentioned that 150 dialysis machines and various X-ray machines have been installed across Mandirs to ensure comprehensive care.
Impact and Future Plans
With the addition of 81 new centers, Delhi now has a total of 319 operational Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. The government plans to further expand this network to 1,100 centers. These Mandirs provide free treatment, medications, and diagnostic services, making quality healthcare accessible to all Delhi residents.
CM Gupta stressed that the government’s focus remains on strengthening public health infrastructure and ensuring that every resident has access to essential medical services, contributing to a healthier and more developed Delhi.
