Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announces industry-friendly reforms, making business easier in the capital. Key measures include licensing simplification, single-window system, and collateral-free loans for MSMEs.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that doing business in the capital has become significantly easier, thanks to industry-friendly decisions and consistent engagement with traders. Over the past ten months, the Delhi government has implemented major reforms, including licensing simplification, a single-window system, and several other initiatives aimed at improving the business ecosystem.
CM Rekha Gupta made these remarks during the centenary celebration of Friends Colony Industrial Area in Jhilmil, where she also appreciated the crucial role played by local entrepreneurs in driving the city’s economy.
Focus on Ease of Doing Business
The Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that the Delhi government is committed to strengthening ease of doing business at the ground level. “Industries are not just profit-making entities; they are the backbone of the nation’s economy and a source of employment for millions of families,” she said. To make operations smoother for entrepreneurs, the government has simplified licensing procedures over the past ten months, ensuring business owners no longer need to navigate complex bureaucratic processes.

Traders Welfare Board to Address Concerns
CM Rekha Gupta highlighted that traders can now communicate their issues and suggestions directly to the government through the Traders Welfare Board. Approval timelines for green-category industries have been reduced from 120 days to 20 days. If approvals are not granted within the stipulated time, they will automatically be considered approved. Micro and small enterprises will now have access to collateral-free loans of up to ₹10 crore. Additionally, the government has directed GST processes to be faster with faceless operations and expedited refunds.
Three New Industrial Zones in Delhi
Industry Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that the Friends Colony Industrial Area has grown from 80 factories a century ago to nearly 2,000 industrial units today. Roads, stormwater drainage systems, and street lighting projects in the area have received over ₹1,000 crore in funding. He further announced that three new industrial zones will soon be developed in Delhi, which will generate employment for millions of residents.
The event was attended by Union State Minister Harsh Malhotra, MLAs Anil Goyal and Sanjay Goyal, and numerous representatives from the industrial sector.
