Delhi Draft Electoral Roll released after verification of voter records, with claims and objections open from August 31 to September 30, 2026.
The Delhi Chief Electoral Office has released the Delhi Draft Electoral Roll on August 31, 2026, following an extensive door-to-door verification exercise aimed at updating voter records and identifying ineligible or duplicate entries.
The verification drive found more than 2.82 lakh deceased electors and 1.41 lakh duplicate entries. Officials also identified voters who had shifted, were absent or could not be verified during the exercise.
Nearly 97.54 Lakh Voters Included in Draft
According to the Delhi CEO, the enumeration exercise was conducted from June 30 to August 17 by 13,033 Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Of the 1,45,10,299 electors registered at the beginning of the exercise, enumeration forms were collected from 97,53,577 voters, representing a collection rate of 67.22%.
The remaining 47,56,722 electors were placed under Absent, Shifted, Dead or Duplicate (ASDD) categories. This included 43,32,775 voters who were absent, shifted or unverified, along with 2,82,412 deceased electors and 1,41,535 duplicate entries.
The Delhi Draft Electoral Roll includes 49,88,993 male voters, 47,64,137 female voters and 447 voters belonging to the third-gender category.

Missing Names Can Still Be Challenged
The Election Commission has clarified that a name missing from the Delhi Draft Electoral Roll does not automatically mean permanent deletion. A claims and objections window has been opened from August 31 to September 30.
Eligible voters who could not submit their enumeration forms can seek inclusion by filing Form-6 along with the required declaration and supporting documents.
The CEO has also stated that no voter will be removed without following due process. This includes issuing a notice, conducting an inquiry and passing a reasoned order by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO).
Those affected can appeal against such decisions before the District Magistrate within 15 days and subsequently approach the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days.
More Polling Stations After Rationalisation
The Delhi Draft Electoral Roll also reflects changes in polling arrangements. The maximum number of electors assigned to one polling station has been reduced from 1,500 to 1,200.
As a result, the number of polling stations has increased from 13,033 to 14,947 across 2,856 polling locations.
Among Delhi’s 70 Assembly constituencies, Matiala has the highest number of electors at 3,33,057, while Delhi Cantt has the lowest at 41,654.
Final Roll to Be Published on November 4
Recognised political parties have appointed 33,226 Booth Level Agents to assist in the revision process. The Delhi Draft Electoral Roll will remain open for claims and objections until September 30, with their disposal scheduled to continue through October 29.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 4, 2026.
The revision exercise is intended to make Delhi’s voter database more accurate while ensuring that eligible citizens are not excluded. Voters are therefore advised to check the Delhi Draft Electoral Roll and raise any claim or objection within the prescribed timeline.
